Unblocking Writer’s Block

Bang!

You’ve hit a wall, a solid unmovable mass.

And there you are staring blankly into space.

Nothing, just nothing comes to mind.

Well, my friend, it seems like you’ve joined the rest of us—you are going through writer’s block.

Not to worry though, this is completely normal and only proves that you are human. Yey!

Of course, we wouldn’t want you getting stuck, so Blvnp ninjas will help you scale that wall and get past it.

Here is what we recommend you do:

  • Take a breather

Stress hinders you from producing ideas. Hence, the annoying wall blocking your creative juices. It would do you a whole lot of good to relax for a bit. Slowly leave your desk—I know you don’t want to—and do something you would enjoy. You can take a walk, go biking, or go to the beach. Just unwind for now. You deserve it.

  • Outline

When it seems you are getting nowhere, outlining will help. Outline the basic flow of your story. Take note of the key points and important details you would like to include. Just lay the foundation and then you can start building from there.

  • Do not overthink

Overthinking never helps. Of course, you would want your book to be the best one there is, however limiting yourself to that perfect story you have in mind and always sticking to that path, not allowing any detours or side trips, may only serve to make writing hard for you. Write ideas as they come. There may be times they won’t make too much sense, but you can go through it again and well edit it accordingly.

  • Jump ahead

It doesn’t have to be chronological. If you are having trouble writing the start of the story, jump to the middle part and then go back to the start of the story when fresh ideas come to mind.

  • Pat yourself on the back

Admit it. You are your own worst critic. You may have beaten yourself up for not living up to your standards. Let go of your fears and insecurities. Believe in yourself. Know that you are a good writer and you will rock that manuscript you are writing.

Now that you’ve climbed that monumental block with your ninja sidekicks, let your fingers do the talking. Put those fantastic ideas into words.

Go do what you do best: WRITE.
